Fabulous Farah...
Mo is a bit of an MST favourite as regulars will know. He is a big XC man, and has a big heart. Too often the bridesmaid when it comes to track championships, it was Farah’s night tonight in Barcelona…
As you might expect from Mo he didn’t do things the easy way at the final of the European Championships 10,000m. With around 5 laps left the Newham runner started to beckon to the others (including fellow Brit Chris Thompson), and with 4 left almost came to a stand-still ensuring that Spain’s Lamdassem took the lead, leaving Farah in pole position sat on the former Morrocan’s shoulder.
A bell it was all over as Mo hit the front with 300 left, going on to win by a good 30 metres easing down. Thompson secured a GB 1-2 with a sprint win for silver.
