The Tom na Bat Hill Race, the second in this year’s SHR Champs, was a close run thing on Saturday as ‘Cosmic’ Dan Whitehead narrowly beat Brian Marshall on this swift 5.6km route, taking the course record into the bargain…
There was no such drama for Clare Whitehead as she beat young star Catriona Buchanan by over a minute, also taking the course record. Tom na Bat was the fourth race in the overall championship, with the remaining races at Dollar (31/7) and Glenshee (8 Aug).

For a race that normally only attracts about 20 runners the Tomintoul Highland Games were delighted to see 118 runners setting off round the track and up Tomnabat
