Salt of the earth...
It’s not often that you have to hail the exploits of the officials and helpers over the athletes in a race. But last night’s Stiperstones fell race seemed to be one such occasion. The rather inclement weather over the last week or so in the northern region of the UK…
…was compounded on a very wet evening in Shropshire. Of course, commendations must go out to the 90 finishers of this excellent 3 mile race in the Shropshire Hill Summer Series, and naturally to the winners (Rich Roberts and Anna Bartlett). But all too often the officials go unheralded, so salutations go out to those marshalls who go drenched for the love of the sport, and to the one and only Al Tye for bringing it to us in some lovely pictures.
