Pippa Maddams at Silent Valley

There seems no let up in the warm and dry weather in the foreseeable future, which is great for race organisers, but sometimes not so great for those taking part in said race. Lucky then that this weekend’s Sedbergh 3 Peaks is merely a short dash…

Significantly the race is round 2 of the British Fell Running Championships and round 4 of the English Champs, making it a key race for many this year. Guaranteed that the big hitters in British fell running will be there then.

All except round one (Silent Valley) winner Andy Symonds that is. The Kendal athlete has an unavoidable family engagement and will sit this one out. However, expect the likes of Morgan Donnelly, Rob Hope, Ian Holmes, Rob Jebb and others will be there looking to score heavily.

Pippa Maddams was a good winner in Northern Ireland and will be tough to beat in the women’s race on Saturday.

More info here, including men’s and women’s start lists.
