Wins for Steven Cale, Ricky Lightfoot, Clare Whitehead and vet Paul Jenkinson, amongst others, as the UK summer continued to shine on the ever-popular mid-week racing in the UK. The Pen 3 Hills race looked particularly steep, as this image by Gwynfor James demonstrates!

Finally, a important evening for Ricky Lightfoot as the 2009 Zegama winner continues in his comeback from a knee injury. He comfortably won the Langstrath race last evening, and told MST:
I returned to racing last night with a win at Langstrath in Borrowdale 4.5 mile 1400ft. Knee felt great and I was only a couple seconds down on my time last year when I won it. I’ve had 11 days in running and 4 hard sessions so it’s going in the right direction.
