Tim Davies at Cribyn

Some highly competitive stuff at Cribyn, Goatfell, Moel Eilio and Sarn Helen over the weekend, amidst some glorious weather – and I have to say that the Manx race Creg ny Baa has produced my favourite fell photo of 2010 so far!

Davies keeps hot streak going at the Cribyn

Mid-Wales mountain man Tim Davies continued his recent streak of wins at a warm Cribyn race on Saturday. The race, organised by top fells-woman Helen Fines, was also round 2 of the WFRA championships.

Jenny Heming was a strong winner of the women’s race , ahead of Aber runner Phoebe Webster. Full report and results now online at the WFRA site with the usual top shots by Al Tye now up at the fellrunningpictures.co.uk site

This classic 16 mile race took place on Sunday. No results as yet, but a nice photo set courtesy of Al Tye is already online!

Last but by no means least, yesterday’s Moel Eilio race took place in Llanberis, in warm-looking conditions. This one can be truly classed as a classic race, taking in some of the best mountains in Snowdonia (Eilio and Moel Cynghorion), with one of the best run-ins of any race in the UK as the last 2 miles ‘drop’ into Llanberis.

Great to see Mercia man Tim Werret back racing, and he took a strong win from Ifan Richards and Martin Cliffe. Andrea Rowlands to the womens race.

Some great images by Gwynfor James are now online…
