Cale and Bartlett are 2/2
Shrewsbury runners Steven Cale and Anna Bartlett made it two wins out of two in the Shropshire Hills Summer series at the Cardoc Classic last night. As usual in this great series the racing was fierce and none more so than the battle for the win…
It’s normally a big smile for the camera from Cale, but not last night, he had his race-face on and understandably so as he was being chased by Welsh fell champ and international Richard Roberts. However, it was the Shrewsbury man’s night as he prevailed over the Eryri’s Roberts by 20 seconds. Ian Grindley was a distant 3rd.
Anna Bartlett also encountered a close run from Mercia’s Mel Price. The two female athletes resumed their battle from the Wrekin Streak with Bartlett winning by a 35 seconds.
