Mo' walks it at UK Trials
Mo Farah turned up and spoiled the party at Cofton Park yesterday as he ran away with the men’s race at yesterday’s UK Inter-Counties cross country, doubling up as the UK trials for the World XC in a few weeks…
To book his place for Poland Farah needed to run the selection race, and is obviously motivated for this year’s championships, after missing the race in Jordan in 2009.
Behind Andy Vernon booked his place by finishing runner-up, after what has been a pretty successful winter for the Aldershot man, though his post-race reactions indicate that he might run in Poland too.
In the women’s race Freya Murray underlined her excellent recent form by turning over Steph Twell by 9 seconds. Murray was “over the moon” post race, and is obviously relishing her chance to now go to the World Championships and do herself justice on a course that should suit the UK team.
