Snowdon 2010 is...closed!
Barely 12 days after race entries opened for the 2010 Snowdon Race the race limit of 500 (plus elite invites) has been reached – and in record time. Race organiser Stephen Edwards had one word for MST tonight “astounded”…
“We are delighted and really cant believe how quickly the race has filled up this year”, Edwards added, “It’s an indication of how important the race has become to many mountain runners in the UK, and from Europe. 500 runners is about the maximum we can have on the mountain for the race, and when factoring the walker-traffic on there too we really wouldn’t be able to handle any more in a safe manner.”
Edwards then concluded “I dare say that we will have some disappointed runners who didn’t get their entries in on time, but we have to draw the line and all that we do here at Snowdon will always have the safety and best interests of those competing in mind.”
The 2010 race promo video is now also online at the race site and on the Snowdon Race you tube channel
