National Intermediates conclude in Lough Key
Despite some confusion among runners as the mooted 10k course was changed to an 8k course on the day, the crowds in Lough Key, Roscommon, were served to an enthralling spectacle as 21-year-old Brendan O’Neill of Dundrum South Dublin ran home from halfway.
In second was Irish hill running international, John Heneghan of Pudsey and Bramley with Thomas Evans, Gowran AC, in third. Another 21-year-old made it a double for DSD, when Maria Walsh saw off Pauline Lamb, Tullamore Harriers, and Sarah Mulligan, DSD.
