Celebrities join Londoners at Tower 42...

A host of celebrities will on Thursday (February 25) join more than a thousand Londoners to climb the 920 stairs of Tower 42 to raise money for housing charity Shelter at the Vertical Rush event. Elite internationals such as Anna Frost will join the throngs racing up the City of London’s second highest building.

Setting off in hourly slots, chip-timed runners – celebrities, fitness fanatics and determined adrenaline junkies alike – will make their way to the top to enjoy the spectacular views across the City. Among them, and competing for his second year, will be entrepreneur and Dragons’ Den star Duncan Bannatyne, setting off at 2:30pm. Duncan said:

“Vertical Rush is a challenging event, but the sense of satisfaction when you get to the top is unbeatable. If I can do it, anyone can!”

Matt Roberts, one of the world’s most recognised personal trainers, has also pledged his support to Vertical Rush and will be running at 8:30am. Soccer AM presenter Max Rushden gets the competition started at 7:00am, running while chained to a number of his friends.

Other famous faces participating in this years Vertical Rush include Hollyoaks and Red Bull Rivals stars Matt Littler and Darren Jeffries, running at 1:30pm and 2:30pm respectively, Hollyoaks’ Emma Rigby running at 2:30pm, George Clarke host of Channel 4’s The Home Show 1 running at 10:30am and comedian Andi Osho running at 10:30am.
