Those Crafty Swedes
Sweden make some great kit. None more so than the lovely ProWarm Olympia crewneck thermal top, which has been looking after me on the hill for the last month. Craft are masters in the cold, but also provide some of the best textiles for all climates…
This figure hugging base will not be too all peoples taste, fit wise, but for me the ergonomic cut is spot on. Craft call it ‘body mapping’, which roughly translates to using different materials in different areas to ensure optimal fit and heat regulation.
The top is also pretty seem-less, so the tightness of the garment isn’t compromised by internally snagging or rubbing.
On the Run
The proof is in the pudding, and after 10 minutes vertical in this baby, I was as warm as one! But not to the point that I was overheating, and when descending I felt that the cooling effect of the wind didn’t make me cold.
The design is cool too, as you would expect from the Swedes, and I like the little touches of branding that don’t smack you in the face, such as some US brands can. Comes in three nice flavours that wont make you look like a fluro raver at your local race…
Off the cuff
My one gripe is the cuffs on this shirt though. They seem too bulky, and tend to ruck and become baggy after time, but return to their normal shape after washing. Perhaps someone at Craft can shed some light on this?
Other than that a big thumbs up from MST!
