Ali Brownlee at Auld Lang Syne

It was a case of out with the old and in with the new at the classic Auld Lang Syne race on new year’s eve. 380 brave souls got out there in the deep snow of Bronte Country, with Ali Brownlee outsprinting fell legend Ian Holmes.

The world triathlon champ demonstrated his class and versatility by beating a field loaded with champions…

WOW, what a spectacular end to the year and the noughties! World Triathlon Champion and Triathlon Man of the Year, Alistair Brownlee, showed he can still mix it with the best in fell running, seeing off a star studded field and more impressively breaking trail through the worst of the snow drifts on the summit ridge of the changed route.

Great report, images from the excellent Woodentops and forum chit-chat now online…
