It will be no surprise to many in the UK that fell racing in the north and mid Wales this last weekend were a bit…wet! Yesterday’s Penmaenmawr fell race was reduced from the normal 11 to 8 miles due the wet and wild conditions in Gwynedd…

Menai-man Tim Lloyd came through to take the win over the shortened course to take his first win of 2009. Andrea Rowlands comfortably won the women’s race.

Brief report on the Eryri site:

On form Tim Lloyd of Menai T&F was the winner with super-talented Iwan ‘the bike’ Morton clinching a superb 2nd. 3rd place went to another – we think Eryri new boy – Saul Lovatt, running in only his 2nd fell race!!

Today’s 3 Peaks Cordon Classic in Powys looked to be a fair bit drier, the Mercia site reports:

Following a weekend of heavy rain and strong winds there was a good turn out to today Corndon Race, Tim Davies set the pace at the front ahead of Steve Cale winner of this years Shropshire Summer Series and Mercia’s Roland Stafford, and ever green Ed Davies, Anna Bartlett was looking on fine form after here recent lay off due to a foot injury…

A well deserved win for the Soloman team manager…he has been demonstrating strength on our training runs recently and I am sure that this is the first of many good results over the next few months…..Go LLoydie….
