wharfeego captures Andy's JN Challenge

This is what it’s all about. The fell running community has many people who give up their time freely to support races, clubs and events, this is often unseen by the wider world. That community is one of the most down-to-earth in running.

So, when Andy Hirst decided to have a crack at the Joss Naylor Challenge back in September it was no surprise to see a band of pacers, followers and feeders in tow.

Joss Naylor has had quite week of publicity, what with his upcoming auction and the unveiling of this great little film. A sign of his greatness is also underlined by his un-floundering dedication to the sport and fells that he loves. How many other sports would get one of the all-time greats turning up in his fleece to greet someone having a crack at one of his / her feats?

It must have therefore been pretty humbling for Andy to have the great man himself there to welcome him home after his 48 hard miles in the Lakes, and happily pose for photos. You can almost see the pride oozing out of Andy!

The other great aspect was the hard work and dedication from wharfeego, who is developing a nice portfolio of race videos and put together footage commemorating the day. I wonder if Joss wishes t’internet was around in his heyday?
