Rhobell Fawr - only for the hardy
Richards on his way to Rhobell Fawr win
Horizontal rain, stinging hail, mist and even a little snow is all a summit marshall needs. Having left a little late for comfort the summit marshalls “hurried” from base control in damp , slightly breezy weather at a creditable pace.
Saturday’s Rhobell Fawr race, in North Wales, certainly seems to have lived up to a billing in early November. Judging by all three images sets: up, descent and other, from fell running pictures man Al Tye, the weather seems to have been ‘changeable’!
Ifan Richards outsprinted Roland Stafford for the win in the men’s race, with long-time leader Sam Smith in third. Jenny Heming comfortably won the women’s event from Hannah Toberman.
