Andy Symonds caps off a great year
As the Scots’ hill season draws to a close, three of the main protagonists of 2009 continued to dominate the men’s event at last weekend’s Meall a Bhuachaille race. Youngster Catriona Buchanan had a storming run to upstage another dominant force in 2009 women’s hill racing, Clare Whitehead…
Andy Symonds, along with third-placer Tom Owens, has had a tremendous 2009, the highlight of which must surely be the duo’s amazing effort at the TransAlpine run in September. Another Scottish youngster with a very bright future is Robbie Simpson. The Deeside runner has been in scintillating form as both a junior and senior this year, culminating in GB vest, and victory at the Junior Home Internationals.
It was a marvellous end to the SHR championship courtesy of the Meall a Bhuachaille race on Saturday. Andy Symonds took the stage win over the new route, ahead of Robbie Simpson, whilst third place for Tom Owens was enough to make him the Scottish champion…
