Simon Bailey

Phillipa Jackson had already sewn-up the 2009 women’s English Fell Running Championship prior to last weekend’s final race at Langdale. However, with all to run for at the last race the men’s championship went down to the wire…

Simon Bailey prevailed for his for his fourth English crown, following his third place at the Langdale Horseshoe race – where Rob Hope could only manage fourth – meaning that the Mercia man took another EFRC title by five points from Pudsey and Bramley runner Hope. Rob Jebb finished in third in the season-long championship.
