2nd IAU Trail Challenge
This weekend sees the second IAU Trail Challenge taking place in Serre Chevalier. The IAU will keep you fully up-to-date with their as live updates via the website.
The race is :
the same race as the Merrell Skyrace. The only difference is that the athletes participating to the World Challenge, will represent their country and will be registered by their federation.
…and Great Britain will field a strong team, with Angela Mudge making the trip.
The course covers 68km and elevates over 3500m through its duration.
The route keeps to the Grande Randonnée (walking) trail that links the Guisane Valley with the Clarée Valley passing through the Cerces Massif via the summit of the Galibier (2642 m), the Col des Béraudes (2895 m) and the Col de Buffère (2427 m) near the Ecrins National Park

Mud, Sweat and Tears was dreamt up some time ago. I had returned to the sport of running (competitively) after around a 15 year layoff due to injury.
