Donnelly wins at 'blustery' Welsh 1000m, or did he?

Not a vest in sight at the start of the 1000m

This race is a little tricky in good weather. It is also one of the classics, and one on the ‘list for ticking’ of most fell runners. A couple of years back it made the headlines for all of the wrong reasons, luckily this year all returned safe and sound.

Details are a little sketchy as to whether the race was actually completed, in the challenging weather conditions. Sky news reports that the race was abandoned, however looking at the race results it seems that 23 hardy fell runners made it back to Aber with multiple 1000m winner Colin Donnelly clocking 04:42:50.

As with the OMM last year the media got a little hot under the collar about this one, but thankfully didn’t quite ‘over report’ this time.

I’m sure it will all come out in the wash!
