Sorry: Road running alert! I know, it’ll be all over the telly, radio, internet and newspapers between now and Sunday; so before we get down to the event this weekend (3 Peaks) we thought that we would filter out some of the more interesting stuff in the lead up to this great marathon…

Tadese's real talent could lie in the marathon

Martin Lel thinks he can do it again

Kenya’s Martin Lel is confident he will overcome a hip injury to chase a record fourth London Marathon title on Sunday.

Olympic marathon champion Sammy Wanjiru hungry for world record

It is a measure of Wanjiru’s confidence that he believes he can not only defeat Lel, to whom he finished runner-up in London last year, but lower Haile Gebrselassie’s world record of 2-3.59 in the process.

TV coverage on the good old BEEB

Sue Barker hosts live coverage of one of the nation’s biggest sporting events, the Flora London Marathon. The world’s top long distance runners will be doing battle over 26.2 miles in the race, which is now in its 29th year. Reigning champion Martin Lel is defending his title and looking for a record fourth win.
