Tuesday - it's the new Saturday!
Foel Lus by twilight
Up and down the country it seems that Tuesday night fell racing is bigger than ever. With 100 turning up (in pouring rain) the to first Great Arette Midweek Series in North Wales, and similar numbers this week at round 2 (Foel Lus), by the looks of it...
In Scotland the Krunce Series has also kicked off, with super-teenager Robbie Simpson winning the first event, up against 58 others.
Tuesday nights can be fun!
In the north of England the legendary Bunny Run series, which run from April 7th to May the 5th in an around Haworth area, continued last night with
43 year old fell running legend and Bunny Governor Ian Holmes incredibly won his 26th Bunny Run beating 3 times winner Willy Smith in an enthralling battle with 249 runners. But first Pendle AC’s numero uno athlete Jack Thompson convincingly won the Egg Stage, equalling the course record of 3-23 set by Andi Jones last week. On the dry but overcast evening Ian and Willy were locked together: it was only in the last 400 metres that Ian opened the winning margin
…in case you missed that, an amazing 249 competitors, and incredibly week 1 had a record field of 286, including 113 ladies!!!

So, come mid-week don’t stay in and wash your hair, get out there on the fells and mountains for a bit of sport – you won’t be alone…
