Pen-Y-Ghent opens those lungs up!

The 2009 Three Peaks race will be open for business a week today on the 12th of January. In it’s 55th year, the race has endured through the decades to become one of the most famous in the world of mountain running.

Talking about the event in 2004, Race President Dave Hodgson said

My own memories of the race stretching back to 1958 include several unsuccessful attempts to win the race, an apprenticeship as a summit marshal and fifteen years as Chairman of the Association, I have always been proud to be part of the team that organises such a prestigious event.

Just looking at the course profile will have most folk thinking twice, with the peak of Pen-Y-Ghent, Whernside and Inglebourough all to be tackled during the 23 miles of racing. MST will be keeping you up-to-date with all of the news regarding this year’s race during the coming months.

If you're a proper fell runner, you have give the 3 Peaks a go...
