Vernon and Twell - leaders of the new school
Freezing conditions and witty Scouse humour didn’t dampen the spirits of Britain’s best cross country runners this weekend as bright stars Andy Vernon and Steph Twell saw off their elders at the UK trials for this years European XC Champs in Brussels.
With the new regime at the head of endurance running in the UK, and athletes like Twell, Vernon, top junior David Forrester and mountain champ Laura Park consistently coming up with the goods, MST feels that we could be on the cusp of a revolution in distance running in the UK.
